OttoPass (“OttoPass”, “we”, “us”) provides a digital loyalty platform that businesses use to run rewards programs for their customers. This policy explains what information we handle and how. It covers both the businesses that use OttoPass and the customers who join a business’s loyalty program through us.

Who controls your data. When you join a loyalty program, the business you signed up with decides what to collect and how to use it to run their program; OttoPass provides the technology that stores and processes it on their behalf. For questions about a specific program, contact that business directly.

Information we collect.

  • Customers: the information you provide when you join a program โ€” such as your first name and, if you choose to provide it, your phone number and birthday โ€” along with loyalty activity (points, stamps, purchase amounts used to calculate rewards, and prize-draw entries).
  • Business owners and staff: account login information used to access the OttoPass app and manage a program.
  • Automatically: basic technical information needed to operate the service securely.

How we use information. To create and manage loyalty passes; to award, track, and redeem points or stamps; to run monthly prize draws and notify winners through their wallet pass; to provide the app to business staff and owners; and to keep the service secure. If you provide a phone number, the business may use it to contact you about their program โ€” you can decline to provide it and still use a loyalty pass.

Wallet passes. To deliver your loyalty card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, we share the information needed to create and update your pass with Apple and/or Google. Your pass contains a code that identifies your loyalty account; it does not contain your phone number.

Sharing. We share a customer’s information only with the business whose program they joined, and with service providers that help us operate (such as Apple and Google for wallet passes, and our hosting provider). We do not sell personal information.

Children. OttoPass is intended for use by businesses with their customers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors without appropriate consent. Businesses are responsible for obtaining any consent required to enroll minors in their programs. If you believe a minor’s information has been collected improperly, contact us and we will remove it.

Retention and your choices. We keep information for as long as needed to operate the program. You may request access to or deletion of your information by contacting us or the business you joined. Business owners and staff can delete their account from within the app.

Security. We use reasonable measures to protect information, though no method is completely secure.

Changes. We may update this policy and will revise the date above.
